| Spring 2012 CSSA PPC/Holster training course sign-up is now available on the club bulletin board. We need 6-8 shooters before we can schedule a fixed date. This is a one day course with classroom lecture, dry fire and live fire exercises. There is a written and practical (live fire) exam. Requirements are : eye and hearing protection, centrefire firearm (Pistol or Revolver >.32 Caliber) , holster, belt, 4 x magazine or 3 speed loaders, magazine carriers/speed loader holders, 500 rounds of ammo, ground mat, brass bucket, pen and paper. Cost is $50.00. You must be a CSSA member to take this course. Materials covered: Origins of the PPC sport, rules, etiquette, equipment, course of fire, PPC shooting positions, scoring targets, holster training - drawing firearm, reloading firearm, holstering loaded firearm, firing line protocol with holstered firearms, transitioning from one shooting position to another shooting position with a loaded firearm. This course does not deal with coaching. We will not be teaching you how to shoot. Students should be familiar with their firearm. Click here to download the 2011 Course Flyer.
